Actually, in this case it was more like three or four days. In any event today, having very little time to take a photo and being in the neighborhood of Green Lake, I attempted to reproduce a photo I had taken a few days ago of a composition I liked -- specifically, a trash can and a dock. Unfortunately, not only did I forget the perspective I had used before, but today was the only sunny day this month and the sun was very much in the wrong place. What I ended up with, after much digital manipulation and gnashing of teeth, is this:

And so it goes.
