This owl stands by the float Seattle Pacific University crew use to launch their shells. It presumably was put there in an effort to deter the omnipresent geese from leaving their droppings on the float.
It hasn't worked.

probably has a hard time keeping an eye out for geese with just that one eye.
He can see them, he just can't home in on them.
