Built in 1910, St. Margaret's of Scotland is the oldest church on Queen Anne Hill. It's still the original little church, although in 1917 it was moved a block south to where it still stands. Over the years St. Margaret's school was built next door and, ultimately, torn down to be replaced by a lovely little park. In 1992 St. Margaret's became the home church of Seattle's Polish community. The website's in Polish, and there's a fine statue of Pope John Paul II as well as a sculpture commemorating the Katyn massacre. There are gorgeous flowers and a grotto containing a statue of the Blessed Virgin and six stained glass windows. And that brings us to today's photo. More will have to wait for another day.
